netZero  districts – innovative solutions for CO2-free building refurbishment

New approaches are needed to make Germany’s building stock climate-neutral. Serial refurbishment using industrially prefabricated components that meet the EnerPHit Standard is a key solution.

outPHit - energy retrofitting with prefabricated elements

Serial refurbishment can be economically successful if as many buildings as possible of the same type in an ensemble with regularly structured facades are energy-efficient refurbished. Quality assurance in planning and execution is therefore particularly important for serial refurbishment with prefabricated elements.

Serial enerPHit refurbishment

Serial refurbishment aims at mass-producing refurbishments through industrial prefabrication and accelerated construction times. NetZero can be achieved when refurbishing to KfW EH and enerPHit. This leads to such low electricity demand that the annual consumption can be covered by a roof-top PV installation.

outPHit: 3 Pilots in Greece [Streamlined Renovation / 3D Ventilation Design]

My contribution in the OutPHit project was the three dimensional design of the ventilation system, the implementation of the PHPP in some case studies, as well as the implementation of the post monitoring of the case studies. Design the post monitoring equipment according to the mechanical facilities of each building, ordering the equipment and installing it to each building in order to measure the consumption and the internal air quality of each case study.

One-Stop-Shop and Prefabrication for Fast and Reliable Retrofits from a Single Source

In this contribution, the role of one-stop-shops (OSS) in the retrofit process for fast and reliable all-in-one solutions is explained. The range of an OSS can incorporate only some or even all services of a deep retrofit from the decision phase to a turnkey building. The pros, especially in combination with prefabrication, and the cons are shown as well.

outPHit: Is It Possible to Reach EnerPHit Even in the High Alpine Region?

It may be hard to reach EnerPHit even in the high alpine region, but it is worth it in any case due to the increased living comfort the maximum reduced heating requirement, expanding the lifecycle of the building to its maximum, saving a lot of gray energy. Specifically shown, it also allows to maximize the overall number of households supplied with 100% renewable district heating.
