Prediction of PV Self-consumption in Buildings - Simulation Results and Tool Development Evaluating and optimizing the possibility of using the PV yield directly in the building is challenging. A spreadsheet-based analysis of PV and thermal and/or electric energy storage at building level is developed based on extensive building and system simulations using reference buildings.

Communicating the value of Passive House Training and Certification to Wild West Builders How do you talk about certifications to a community that openly values deregulation? This is the challenge we have faced in offering CPHT training in the U.S. The solution is an exploration into the power of language, storytelling, and emotional intelligence. |

Dealing with Heat Waves: Can I Use the PHPP to Size Cooling Equipment? The article looks at using the PHPP for sizing cooling equipment and compares results with multi-zone calculations using dynamic simulation, based on a simple worked example of a completed and certified Passivhaus residential building in a warm climate.

Streamline Complex PHPP Modeling Workflows Using the New 'Honeybee-PH' Honeybee-PH is a new free, open-source software toolkit designed to help Passive House practitioners manage complex building data more efficiently. This toolkit allows PHPP modelers to reduce model time, improve model flexibility, and limit errors significantly when used as part of BIM workflow. |

Latest Developments in designPH This presentation will give an insight into the latest developments in designPH which include: Further alignment with the PHPP calculation methodology, by employing the monthly method directly in designPH. This will give a better parity of results between designPH and PHPP eventually allow us to assess cooling demand and introduce overheating warnings. Designers will be able to further evaluate their designs directly in designPH before exporting to PHPP. Some new possibilities for displaying contextual information directly in the model viewport, using a new feature of SketchUp 2023. Entry of PV panels in a designPH model. |
