The Passivhauskre­is is a re­gion­al net­work ded­ic­ated to the ad­vanced train­ing of trades­people. Un­til build­ing trades­people are edu­cated in en­ergy ef­fi­ciency, it will re­main the task of the Pass­ive House move­ment to fill this know­ledge gap. With a sol­id edu­ca­tion­al back­ground in the trade, fo­cus can be laid on the phys­ics of en­ergy-ef­fi­cient con­struc­tion.

Con­struct­ing en­ergy ef­fi­cient build­ings re­quires ex­pert know­ledge, co­op­er­a­tion and goal-ori­en­ted qual­ity as­sur­ance. Every de­tail is im­port­ant. This present­a­tion re­lies on a 10-point check to il­lus­trate the be­ne­fit an en­ergy co­or­din­at­or provides in sus­tain­able con­struc­tion and liv­ing.

Avoid­ing the Per­form­ance Gap by deep­en­ing and dis­sem­in­at­ing Pass­ive House know­ledge (Present­a­tion in Ger­man)

In ad­di­tion to ex­pand­ing its range of train­ing op­por­tun­it­ies, the PHI is fo­cus­ing on ramp­ing up its train­ing and cer­ti­fic­a­tion ca­pa­city. On­line courses are use­ful, provided that close con­tact is main­tained between the par­ti­cipants and train­er for qual­ity reas­ons. The new on­line ex­am­in­a­tion is also up­scal­ing the cer­ti­fic­a­tion pro­cess.

Uni­versity edu­ca­tion as a chance for spread­ing the Pass­ive House Stand­ard (Present­a­tion in Ger­man)

Pass­ive House train­ing at uni­versit­ies should build on sol­id train­ing provided as part of Bach­el­or’s pro­grammes and be con­sol­id­ated in cor­res­pond­ing Mas­ter’s pro­grammes. Con­tinu­ing  pro­fes­sion­al de­vel­op­ment at uni­versit­ies and in pro­fes­sion­al de­vel­op­ment courses can com­ple­ment, but not re­place, this train­ing. If not now, then when? 

High en­ergy ef­fi­ciency edu­ca­tion in tech­nic­al col­leges: A ex­per­i­en­ce re­port by the Uni­versity of Ap­plied Sci­en­ces Er­furt (Present­a­tion in Ger­man)

Das neue Cur­ri­cu­lum der stu­di­en­be­glei­ten­den Aus­bil­dung zum zer­ti­fi­zi­er­ten Pas­siv­haus­pla­ner/in und die Aus­bil­dung En­er­PHit plus er­streckt sich über drei Se­mes­ter, er­freut sich großer Be­liebt­heit und wird über­aus po­si­tiv eva­lu­iert. Zur­zeit sind 30 Stu­die­ren­den der Mas­ter­stu­di­en­gän­ge Ar­chi­tek­tur und Ge­bäu­de- und En­er­gie­tech­nik ein­ge­schrie­ben.

Re­vo­lu­ti­on through edu­ca­ti­on

Is there any­thing that Py­thagoras, Al­ex­an­dre Du­mas and Ber­thold Brecht could have in com­mon? They all be­lieved that con­tinu­ous edu­ca­tion is the key for a sus­tain­able fu­ture. We must fol­low their philo­sophy. We shall de­liv­er edu­ca­tion to young people in­stead of wast­ing time to con­vince states and pro­fes­sion­als who will soon re­tire.
