Active, passive, or both? Paving the way for an energy transition.(Presentation in German) The example of the redevelopment of a single-family house shows how the building energy transition can be achieved through PV electricity generation and efficiency measures, taking into account the economic efficiency of the measures chosen. This results in enough electricity to drive 28,000 kilometres with an electric Volkswagen Golf.

Passive House - naturally sustainable! (Presentation in German) The sustainability of Passive Houses was compared against the findings of a comparative study on globally recognised certification systems. This revealed that certified Passive Houses are not only energy efficient, but are also unequivocally sustainable.

Future proof new builds for a climate-neutral building stock in 2050 (Presentation in German) In new builds, energy consumption needs to be reduced across the board, heat predominantly supplied using heat pumps with (thermal) storage systems and the available PV surface areas exploited to the fullest extent possible. Consuming fuel (directly/indirectly) in summer must be avoided. |

Knivsta Centre for Sports and Culture The small community between Stockholm and Uppsala is growing fast and the need for a common meeting place was long sought after. A multi-arena building that enables activities for sports and scenic arts in a common building. CIK is challenging the title as Europe’s largest indoor passive house ice-arena. |

Strong builders - great buildings! (Presentation in German) The aim of this research project is to prepare and multiply the use of robust technical system standards and the associated quality-relevant processes and apply them to buildings, rooms and installations. Increasing the role played by building owners makes it possible to construct complex buildings of a higher quality. |
